Costs

Public law proceedings  

We accept legal aid rates (+VAT) for cases within care proceedings.  

We estimate hours required according to the legal aid agency guidelines (25 hours for 1 individual, 35 hours for 2 individuals and so on).

If the bundle and medical notes are in excess of 350 pages, we may ask for prior authority to allow for extra reading time.

If an additional specialist assessment is required, such as cognitive assessment, we may also ask for prior authority. 

Private law proceedings 

We accept instructions for private law cases and charge an hourly rate of £150.00 per hour +VAT. Travel time (£40 per hour) and mileage (£0.45 is added to the amount).  

We calculate the number of hours required based on the legal aid agency guidelines unless information indicates a requirement for more or less time. 

We ask for payment to be settled before the assessment begins for privately funding parents.
